A.M. UPDATE: 99 customers in Valley still without power

Fewer than 100 area homes and businesses were still without power this morning as utility crews continued to repair transmission lines damaged Monday by Hurricane Sandy.

National Grid crews remained busy in the Merrimack Valley and the company posted on its website that it expected all power to be restored by 4 p.m. today. Local outages as of 6:30 a.m. today included 32 in Andover, 23 in Haverhill, 10 in Lawrence, 24 in Methuen and 6 in Andover for a total of 99.

Overall, there were 125 homes and businesses throughout Essex County that remained in the dark.

Communities in southern New Hampshire had most of their power restored. Public Service of New Hampshire reported 69 customers in Derry without power, 27 in Windham, 23 in Londonderry and 10 in Hampstead as of 11 p.m. last night.
