LAWRENCE — A Gilbert Street man was arrested early Sunday morning after he allegedly robbed a cab driver at gunpoint, police said.
Giovani Cirino, 38, of 118 Gilbert St., was arrested and charged with armed robbery at 4:37 a.m.
Officers arrested him after receiving a report a cab driver was robbed at Franklin and Tremont streets.
The victim said he was robbed after something that felt like a gun was stuck in his right side. Police did not find a weapon on Cirino, however.
Cirino had $39 on him when arrested, according to a police report.

METHUEN — A man attempted to rob the CVS on Swan Street Saturday morning, but ran off without taking anything.
The man walked into the CVS at about 7 a.m. Saturday, walked up to the register and demanded money from the clerk, who believed the man may have had a weapon concealed under his shirt.
The clerk jumped away from the register, and the man left without any money. Police believe he fled in a gray pickup truck. He was described as a white male, in his mid- to late-20s, unshaven, about five feet three inches, 140 pounds, wearing a white hoodie, a knit cap, running pants with a light stripe and black sneakers.

Arrest: Rigoberto Padilla-Gomez, 43, of 146 Spruce St., #1, Manchester, N.H.; driving without a license, 4:48 p.m., Water Street.
