Recreation trips planned in Plaistow

PLAISTOW— The Recreation Department is hosting several trips in the upcoming weeks. On March 20, they will be taking a trip to Mason to visit the Parker Maple House for an educational tour. Tickets are $10 for residents, $15 for non-residents.

The bus will leave the park-and-ride lot on Westville Road at 9:30 a.m. and returning to Plaistow at approximately 3:45 p.m. The deadline for registration is March 13.

On April 5, the group will travel to the Made in NH Expo. Tickets are $12 for residents, $17 for nonresidents. The bus will leave the park-and-ride lot at 10:30 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m. The deadline for registration is March 15.

On April 25, the group is traveling to Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Conn. The bus will leave the park-and-ride lot at 7 a.m. and return at 5 p.m. Tickets are $15 for residents, $20 for nonresidents.

Get your pets vaccinated

ATKINSON — The Atkinson Firefighters’ Association will host a rabies clinic Sunday, March 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the station, 1 Academy Ave.

The cost is $13 per animal.

Atkinson residents can register their pets at the same time.

The snow date is March 24.

Transportation forum slated for March 6

A forum on transportation will be held March 6, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Merrimack College.

Massachusetts Secretary of Transportation and CEO Richard Davey and Sen. Thomas McGee, D-Lynn, chairman of the Massachusetts Senate Transportation Committee, will present “The Way Forward: A 21st Century Transportation Plan,” the recently released roadmap to keep Massachusetts competitive in the future. The forum will be held in the Murray Lounge on the second floor of the college’s Sakowich Campus Center, 315 Turnpike St., North Andover.

The Merrimack Valley Transportation Management Association, the Junction Transportation Management Organization and the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce invite the public to participate. Your feedback will be heard by the legislature as they deliberate and develop solutions to fund the state’s transportation infrastructure to support and enhance economic development now and in the future.
