---- — NORTH ANDOVER — North Andover appears to be on the verge of getting another Dunkin’ Donuts.
Cafua Realty Trust, a Methuen firm that owns numerous Dunkin’ Donuts franchises, wants to build a shop at 1018 Osgood St., a site now occupied by a large vacant house.
The developer wants to build a 2,250-square-foot coffee shop with a drive-through and provide 25 parking spaces. The Planning Board considered the proposal Tuesday night and postponed the hearing until Feb. 5.
The board asked Cafua to provide information on traffic impact as well as a storm water runoff plan, according to Town Planner Judy Tymon.
The house was owned for many years by the Chepulis family. Cafua Realty Trust bought the property for $400,000 from William Chepulis last January, according to the assessors’ office.
The site measures not quite two-thirds of an acre.
Dunkin’ Donuts already has a considerable presence in North Andover. Route 125, which takes in Chickering Road and a large section of Osgood Street, has three Dunkin’ Donuts shops. Others are located on Salem and Main streets and Route 114.
Lately the town has become a popular location for coffee shops. Heav’nly Donuts plans to put a shop at 50 Main St. by March or April.
If Cafua Realty gains the approvals it needs, the company will build a Dunkin’ Donuts in an area where the selectmen and other town officials want to promote economic development, the Route 125 corridor.
