NORTH ANDOVER — Fifteen bags of leaves that had been left near the street for collection by the Department of Public Works were set on fire Sunday night.
Engine 1 went to 62 Milton St. and quickly extinguished the fire, which was reported by a resident at 10:23 p.m. Other bags of leaves in the neighborhood appeared to be untouched, according to fire Lt. William McCarthy.
The incident appears to be an act of vandalism, he said.
