LAWRENCE — A bandit wearing a skeleton mask and carrying a shotgun held up an Andover Street store Tuesday night, police said.
The clerk at Bob's Store, 513 Andover St. told police she was working alone about 6:15 p.m. when the man entered with what she said looked like a shotgun and told her to give him all the money and no one would be hurt.
The clerk opened the register and handed him $80 cash. The robber then ran out of the store and fled in an unknown direction, police said.
The robber was described as in his mid to late teens, light skinned, about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build, wearing the mask, a black hoodie and jeans.
Police searched the area but were unable to locate the man.
Thieves hit two 2001 Acura Integras
HAVERHILL — Thieves broke into two 2001 Acura Integras and damaged the steering columns, but did not take the vehicles, police said.
Neil Murphy, 635 W. Lowell Ave., found his Acura Integra had been entered and damaged while parked at his home sometime Monday night.
Murphy told police he locked the car earlier in the evening and the red security light indicator was still flashing when he opened the door and found the steering column had been heavily damaged, and the ignition was popped and lying on the floor of the car. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.
The damage was reported at 4:54 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
At 10:17 a.m. Angel Aviles, 4 Park St., called police to report his Acura Integra had been entered while parked in his driveway and the steering column casing had been stolen.
The ignition was damaged during the theft and the car could not be started.
Nothing else was taken from the car, police said.
Detective Capt. Alan Ratte said although the incidents were reported hours apart on opposite sides of the city they appeared to be the work of the same people.
"I would say they are probably the same people targeting older model Acuras," he said.
