---- — SALISBURY BEACH — Those who love Salisbury Beach will have a chance to show it on Saturday by participating in the 27th annual CoastSweep cleanup.
Starting at 10 a.m., volunteers will gather at the Currier Pavilion in the last parking lot at Salisbury Beach State Reservation to tend to the beach.
While the summer beach season is winding down, residents and others are encouraged to join Salisbury Beach State Reservation staff, Salisbury Beach Betterment Association members and local Scouts for CoastSweep. Participants will collect trash, fishing lines and other marine debris while also recording data on what they find. This will become part of the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup, the world’s largest volunteer effort.
As it has done in years past, volunteers from the Salisbury Beach Betterment Association will provide refreshments and hold a cookout following the cleanup. Area merchants have also donated prizes for a raffle, which will be conducted at the end of the meal.
Volunteers may contact reservation supervisor Mike Magnifico at 978-462-4481 for more information, or just meet at the reservation on Saturday.
