Anton's Cleaners' launches 'Coats for Kids' drive Oct. 14

Winter coat drive on

HAVERHILL - Anton’s Cleaners will launch its 19th annual Coats for Kids winter coat drive beginning Oct. 14 and running through Jan. 11.

The largest coat drive of its kind in New England, the drive has the simple goal of helping individuals who otherwise wouldn’t be able to keep themselves and their families warm. Participating businesses and organizations collect good quality, warm winter coats and then bring them to any of Anton’s Cleaners’ 42 locations or one of the five Jordan’s Furniture stores.

Once collected and cleaned, coats are distributed free of charge through the Distribution Partners network, which includes Community Action Inc. in Haverhill, the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children in Lawrence, The Community Group in Lawrence, Community Teamwork Inc. in Lowell, Mental Health Association of Greater Lowell Inc. and The Wish Project in Lowell.

Last year’s drive collected 52,000 coats, with Anton’s donating over $10 million in cleaning services since the program began.
