Open house Thursday for iHealth@NECC

---- — LAWRENCE — Northern Essex Community College will hold an open house for its iHealth@NECC hybrid health care program on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m. in the iHealth Building, 52 Franklin St. Following a group welcome, which will introduce the variety of health care programs available at NECC, attendees can join a breakout session of their choosing to learn details on specific programs.

Individuals interested in a career in health care should consider attending this event which is free and open to the public.

Among the programs that will offer breakout sessions are Medical Assisting, Medical Billing, Healthcare Technician, Dental Assisting, Ophthalmic Assisting, and Medical Coding certificate programs as well as the NECC Associate of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and other programs.

Information will also be available on a variety of other NECC health care programs including Radiologic Technology, Paramedic, Sleep Technologist, and more.

iHealth Programs are currently enrolling for the January semester, which begins Jan. 22. While some health care programs are offered in traditional in-class formats, iHealth programs are offered as hybrid programs – with students attending class one or two times each week and completing the rest of the coursework online. iHealth programs offer affordable health training, a flexible schedule, and fast completion. District Parent Council meets tomorrow

The District Parent Council invites parents of Haverhill school children to its monthly meeting, tomorrow from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. in Central Office, City Hall, 4 Summer St. Please come and enjoy coffee and conversation about the district’s education issues, and bring a friend. The agenda includes an update from the superintendent, a presentation by the director of special education, information about the annual Write-Away contest and more. Music Hall open house on Friday

METHUEN — The Methuen Memorial Music Hall will hold a Holiday Open House on Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Enjoy Christmas music on the Great Organ played by organists Chandler Noyes and Joyce Painter Rice, and shop for artisan made gifts including hand-crafted jewelry, watercolors, vintage lampshades, candy, origami ornaments, scented candles, items from Third World countries, gift baskets, insects in shadow boxes and painted/decorated bricks. Free on-site parking. Handicap entrance is at the rear door. The Methuen Memorial Music Hall is at 192 Broadway (Route 28), Methuen.

Free concert tomorrow

HAMPSTEAD — The Meetinghouse Park Summer Concert Series will present its second annual free winter concert tomorrow (Dec. 4) at 7 p.m. at the Hampstead (N.H) Middle School. The Don Campbell Band – a summertime favorite – will perform a blend of holiday and country crossover music. This concert is sponsored by the Hampstead Cable TV Advisory Committee. Suggested cost of admission is a food item for the St. Anne food pantry or an item for the Military Support Club at Hampstead Middle School, to be sent to the troops. NECC chorus to present Holiday Show

Holiday music from the 1500s to the present will be featured at the Northern Essex Community College chorus holiday showcase on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. in the Hartleb Technology Center on the Haverhill campus, 100 Elliott St. Admission is $5. Tickets may be purchased at the door. “You can expect to hear everything from George Friedrich Handel to Irving Berlin,” said Alisa Bucchiere, NECC chorus director.

In addition, the chorus will perform a spiritual by William Dawson and an arrangement from the King Singers. Soloists include James Clark Jr. of Methuen, who will perform “Corner of the Sky” from “Pippin,” and Jenny Weiss of Amesbury, who will perform an aria from Handel’s “Messiah.” More information is available by email Bucchiere at abucchiere@necc.mass.edu.
