METHUEN — A man walked into the Walgreen's Pharmacy empty-handed, but left carrying a white plastic grocery store bag containing three diabetes test kits valued at $240, police said.
Officers were sent to the store at 9 p.m. Wednesday, where the store manager told them she saw the man enter the store about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, and walk around for about 10 minutes.
She told police she saw the man walk toward the front of the store carrying the bag with three Accucheck diabetes test kits inside.
The kits each contain a glucometer and test strips, and are used by people with Type I and Type II diabetes to test their blood glucose levels.
She described the man as being 35 to 40 years old, with a beard, wearing a brownish Army coat with a hoodie under it and a stocking cap matching his coat.
She told police he has been in the store on numerous occasions in the past.
The officers checked the area but were unable to locate the man.
