ANDOVER — Learn about environmentally-friendly yard care and landscaping at Memorial Hall Library this spring.
The town is participating in Greenscapes North Shore and will offer three presentations at the library starting April 21. Residents can learn how to reduce their water bills, keep healthy and attractive yards, and cut back on the use of potentially harmful chemicals.
The presentations, titled "Spring is Time for Greenscaping," are scheduled for April 21 at 10 a.m., April 27 at 7 p.m., and May 2 at 10 a.m., all at the library in Elm Square.
Greenscapes North Shore is coordinated by Salem Sound Coastwatch, the Ipswich River Watershed Association, and Eight Towns and the Bay.

Healthy Kids Day happens Saturday
METHUEN — The Merrimack Valley YMCA hosts Healthy Kids Day on Saturday.
The program will be run at the Methuen branch, 129 Haverhill St., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and at the Andover/North Andover branch, 165 Haverhill St., Andover, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Put Play in Their Day offers activities for children and adults, including indoor relay races, arts and crafts projects, basketball free-throw contests, swimming, sports, and games.
Celebrate 'poetree' at Nevins Library
METHUEN — April is National Poetry Month, and Nevins Memorial Library and the Grey Court Poets are celebrating by creating a "poetree."
They are inviting local poets and poetry lovers to bring a poem they have written or one they have read and enjoyed to hang on their tree. Poems should be on a sheet of paper. They can be decorated or plain. For more information, call 978-686-4080.
Last chance to sign up for Tower Hill league
LAWRENCE — Last chance to sign up to play in the Tower Hill Youth Baseball/Softball League is Saturday.
Registration will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gagnon Park concession stand on Providence Street, behind Bruce School.
