NORTH ANDOVER — The Rev. Dianne Cooksey Kessler has been named to the board of the Center for the Study of Jewish Christian Muslim Relations at Merrimack College.
The center is an interfaith program to study and encourage the interreligious connection between Jews, Christians and Muslims.
Kessler was executive director of the Massachusetts Council of Churches from 1988 to 2007. An author, she has participated in ecumenical and denominational endeavors, including the World Council of Churches.
Kessler, who lives in Newton Centre, has a bachelor's from Oberlin College, Ohio, and a master's from the Andover Newton Theological School. She also has an honorary doctor of divinity degree from the Episcopal Divinity School and an honorary doctor of humane letters from Hebrew College.
