Driver robbed at gunpoint in Lawrence

LAWRENCE — The driver of a minivan was robbed at gunpoint last night by three men at the intersection of Newbury and Summer streets, police said.

The male victim had stopped at a stop sign at the intersection when the three men - all of them armed - entered the vehicle, according to police Sgt. John Bernard.

Bernard said the men stole a car stereo, global positioning system and earrings from the man before getting out of the vehicle and allowing him to drive off.

Bernard said the victim came to the police station at 9:55 p.m. to report the incident.

The robbery remains under investigation, Bernard said. No further details were available late last night.
