ANDOVER — The Doherty Middle School PAC is sponsoring a yard sale to benefit school activities and events next year.
The yard sale will be Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, on the grounds of the school at 50 Bartlet St.
Space rental is $15 and participants keep all money generated from sales.
Set up will be at 8 a.m. Sellers must provide their own table.

Caregiving expo at Andover Senior Center
ANDOVER — The Andover Senior Center's BoomerVenture program is offering a free senior caregiving expo tomorrow from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The expo-style event will feature more than two dozen organizations, including area assisted living and nursing home facilities, in-home services, first alert and hospice care.

Ribbon cutting for new Hospice House
HAVERHILL — A ribbon cutting will be held Tuesday, June 2, to celebrate the opening of the first Hospice House in the state licensed to care for pediatric patients.
The Merrimack Valley Hospice House is located at 360 North Ave.
The ceremony will be at 5:30 p.m., and followed by tours of the residence.
MI lauds volunteers for service to center
LAWRENCE — The Mary Immaculate Nursing/Restorative Center recognized the men and women who volunteer their time to help residents, staff and visitors at a luncheon recently.
Joan Duggan of Lawrence was named 2009 Volunteer of the Year for her many years of deliver the mail to resident, a task she cheerfully performs seven days a week.
Joe Petralia of Lawrence was honored for 21 years of volunteer service. He serves as a eucharistic minister.
Others recognized were: Rita Gagnon, Prima Jani, Leo Joncas, Mary Young, and Sister Jeanne Poor, all of Lawrence; Paul Dingle of Acton; Tom Hajj of Methuen; Maddy Matachun; Lou Lebreque and Suzanne Lebreque of Salem, NH; Song Suk Daw of Newburyport; and Jerry Haley, Barbara McLean and Carol Noel, all of North Andover.
"We are truly grateful for the participation of our volunteers," said the Rev. Chan Newton, director of Spiritual Care. "Their support allows us to fulfill our charge of providing spiritual as well as medical and supportive care for our residents."
