Tires slashed over video game

METHUEN — A Lawrence man was arrested after he slashed three tires on his ex-girlfriend's car because she would not give him her Sony Playstation video game console, police said.

Officers Stephen Hatem and Herb Stacy were sent to the home of Christina Cruickshank, 13 Tudor St. about 5:50 p.m. Sunday after she called police to report the damage.

The officers were told on the radio that the man had left the scene and was wearing a white shirt with flowers on it and blue shorts.

When the officers arrived, the man, later identified as Michael Perez, 22, of 4 Hey St., Lawrence had returned, but began to walk away when he saw the officers approaching.

Hatem arrested Perez a short distance away.

Cruickshank told the officer she had received a call from Perez saying he was at his cousin's home, but when she looked out her window she saw him slashing the tires on her 1995 Saturn SC2.

Both front tires and a rear tire were damaged.

Perez was charged with malicious damage to property over $250.
