Gregory Hyzdu was awarded a bachelor of arts degree from Assumption College in Worcester at the 93rd commencement ceremony on May 15. Hyzdu majored in business management. He is the son of Scott and Barbara Hyzdu of North Andover.

The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund recently awarded a college scholarship to Amy Machain, a graduate of Andover High School, who will be attending Quinnipiac University in 2010. Machain was one of 160 new recipients who received an award this year and was recognized for academic achievement, as well as notable community, school and work activities.

Jade Gadomski of Methuen was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Bay Path College. She will enter her senior year in the fall, majoring in forensic science.

Andrea Martin of Andover has been elected to the University of New Hampshire chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Martin is a senior majoring in psychology and justice studies. She is the daughter of Cara and Robert Martin.

Eddy Cruz of Lawrence received a bachelor of science degree from Lasell College during commencement exercises held on May 16. Cruz majored in management.

Amanda Brady of Andover has finished her freshman year at New Hampton School. Active in the music program as well as the tennis team, Brady made the honor roll in each semester and for the entire academic year.

Michael Palermo of Andover was named to the dean's list at Georgetown University for the spring 2010 semester. Palermo received first honors, with a GPA of 3.9 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Julie Michaud of Methuen has been named to the dean's list for the 2010 spring semester at Mount Ida College.
