---- — NORTH ANDOVER – With the general election less than four weeks away, the North Andover Republican Town Committee is holding a rally at the China Blossom, starting at 7:30 tonight.
Columnist, talk show host and author Howie Carr has been invited to the NAGOP (North Andover GOP) Rally.
The two Republicans who want to represent North Andover in the Massachusetts House of Representatives are also expected to attend.
Rep. James Lyons, R-Andover, is running for a second term. His 18th Essex District includes Precincts 6, 7 and 8 in North Andover.
Karin Rhoton, who recently completed a three-year term on the North Andover School Committee, is the Republican nominee in the 14th Essex District, which takes in Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 in North Andover as well as three precincts in Methuen, three in Lawrence and one in Haverhill.
In the Nov. 6 election, Lyons faces a rematch with former Rep. Barbara L’Italien, D-Andover.
Rhoton is running against Diana DiZoglio of Methuen, who surprised many people when she defeated Rep. David Torrisi, D-North Andover, in the Sept. 6 Democratic primary.
