LAWRENCE — Socks for Seniors is an annual community service project to collect new socks to be distributed to elderly in local area nursing homes around the holidays.
The program begins with Make A Difference Day tomorrow - The Official Kick-off of the 2012 Socks For Seniors Campaign and runs thru Christmas.
The group is looking for local area coordinators near Lawrence to help with collecting socks this year.

Employers welcome to WTF session
HAVERHILL — Northern Essex Community College and ValleyWorks Career Center in partnership with the City of Haverhill invite local employers to attend a Workforce Training Fund informational session on Friday Nov. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. This session will give employers an opportunity to learn more about the recent changes to the WTFP and the state funding opportunities available through the Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund (WTFP). The WTFP program enables businesses to provide training and development opportunities for their employees.
This session is free and will focus on the new guidelines for the WTFP General, Express and Hiring Incentive Grants. Michael Corcoran, Supervisor of Operations at the State Department of Workforce Development, will present a 90 minute information-packed session to help Massachusetts companies determine which grants are most appropriate and available for their employees’ training needs.
The session will be held at the Friendisha Café Conference Room which is located at 34 Rogers Ave. in the Ward Hill Industrial Park.
