---- — LAWRENCE – State Rep. Frank Moran, D-Lawrence, yesterday announced his endorsement of Congressman Stephen F. Lynch in the U.S. Senate race.
“Steve Lynch will bring a new voice to the U.S. Senate,” said Moran. “In Congress, he has been a staunch defender of working families, veterans, and seniors. As a former ironworker, Steve has a unique story to tell – one that has never been heard on the floor of the U.S. Senate. We need a Senator who is chosen by the people of Massachusetts, not the establishment in Washington. Steve Lynch is that guy, and I am proud to endorse him in this race.”
Lynch, of South Boston and the 8th Congressional District, is seeking the Democratic nomination against Congressman Edward Markey of Malden and the 5th Congressional District, in a special primary election April 30 for the chance to succeed John Kerry who became Secretary of State.
“The senators, reps, and mayors in my district know I will work with them to support our local communities,” Lynch, of South Boston, said.
