Lounge hosts Battle of the Bands, other musicians

The Chit Chat Lounge on Washington Street is hosting a series of local amateur performers in a Battle of the Bands, with the next session tomorrow at 2 p.m. on the first floor.

The club will also host internationally known musician Jon Abrams tonight at 9 p.m. and every Friday night in July on the first floor.

Admission is free to all these performances.

Outdoor concert series returns

The sixth annual Bradford Common Outdoor Music Series kicks off this year with a July 12 performance of blues, country and rock by Keith Muise & the Telestrators.

Opening acts begin at 6 p.m. on Bradford Common followed by featured acts at 7 p.m. People planning to attend are asked to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

All performances are sponsored by the First Church of Christ and are free and open to the public.

The series continues with Liz Bills & Jesse Cohen on July 19, Paul Prue & the Blues Men on July 26, Lee Lewis & the Ladies of Chanel on Aug. 2, Mike Cesati & Company on Aug. 9, the Mike Fioretti Band on Aug. 16. The Aug. 23 show will be announced. More information is available from Paul Prue at 978-590-2119.

Shingles vaccination information session

The Council on Aging will host a shingles vaccination information session to be presented by Walgreens Pharmacy on July 11 at 10 a.m.

Indications for vaccination and insurance coverage will be discussed. To reserve your seat, contact Mary Connolly, community health coordinator, at 978-374-2390, ext. 15.

Soccer registration accepted

Online registration for the fall 2013 In-Town soccer season is open until July 31.
