METHUEN — One person was injured in a 3-car crash on Hampstead Street Tuesday night.
At 6:32 p.m. police and firefighters were called to the area of 85 Hampstead St. for a report of an accident, according to a press release issued by Methuen Police Department spokesman Capt. Randy Haggar.
Police say a Nissan Maxima operated by Karen Motard of 205 Hampstead St. was headed north on Hampstead Street when it crossed the double-yellow line and strayed into the southbound lane of traffic, colliding with a Honda Odyssey driven by Daniel Tulley of 12 Pleasant Circle, Methuen.
A third car, a Ford Focus driven by Matthew Wachowiak, 32 Atkinston St., Methuen, slammed into the rear of Motard’s car.
Motard was taken to Lawrence General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The other two victims were able to walk away from the accident. The Odyssey and Maxima sustained major damage.
The crash remains under investigation by Methuen Police Officer Frank Lascola and the State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit.
