Merrimack Valley Police Log

METHUEN — Two cars, multiple keys and a television were stolen from a Prospect Street dealership overnight Monday, though one car was recovered Tuesday in Lawrence.

Police Capt. Tom Fram said the owner of Prospect Street Auto called police Tuesday morning to report a broken window in his store and a number of missing keys. The owner determined that two cars, a black 2006 Infinity G35X, valued at approximately $10,000, and a silver 2007 Honda Civic, valued at about $11,000, were missing from the lot.

Fram said detectives found two other stolen vehicles, both Honda Civics, parked nearby that they suspect the thieves drove to the dealership. Detectives interviewed surrounding businesses for video and witnesses, and so far have only found one person who heard a noise, but did not look to see what it was.

Methuen police were called to Bunker Hill Street in Lawrence later Tuesday for a recovered stolen car and found the 2007 Civic taken from the lot, along with valid plates from another vehicle that was parked on Prospect Street in Methuen.

The lot owner is changing the locks and radio chip ignitions in the vehicles still in the lot that are missing keys, Fram said.

Anyone with information on the stolen black 2006 Infinity G35X should call detectives at Methuen Police Department at 978-983-8676.
