Barbershop quartets offer singing Valentines

Following their lunch at Borrelli’s, Zanni brought the delegation by Mann Orchards on Pleasant Valley Street to grab some coffee and apple crisp.

In addition to sampling some of the great selection at Mann’s, the group met with the owners and residents. They were also joined by Restaurant Week co-sponsors, including Ray Wrobel of NMTW Community Credit Union; Matt McLennan of Century 21 McLennan & Co; and Michael Bevilacqua and Will Carpenter of the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce.

GLTS adult education accepting registrations for spring classes

ANDOVER - With almost 50 adult education courses currently offered at Greater Lawrence Technical School, students can gain expertise in a wide array of subjects. According to the U.S. Department of Education, an estimated 90 million Americans participate in some form of adult education each year, including career training and basic education.

Whether it’s a ServSafe Certification, Administrative Medical Assisting, Lifeguard Training, Basic Electricity, CPR, Zumba, or a cooking class, anyone from a student to a senior citizen can register at the school at 57 River Road.

Evening of Sweet Indulgence Saturday

Billy Costa, from Kiss 108FM and the TV Diner, will be coming to the Merrimack Valley again to promote the region’s restaurants, caterers and bakeries. This year there are vendors from nine communities competing for the coveted “Best Dessert in the Merrimack Valley” Trophy. Those attending the event vote for their favorite sweet treat.

Representing Andover will be Andover’s newest bakery, Pink Tree Sweets, and the On the Bone restaurant from the Wyndham Hotel. Joining them, representing North Andover, will be Cakes by Design.

The event will take place at the University of Massachusetts Lowell Inn & Conference Center on Saturday from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. The cost for general admission is $35 per person in advance or $40 at the door.
