Police Log

ANDOVER — A construction trailer was stolen from a home construction site on Lowell Street over the weekend.

A caller from a job site at 367 Lowell Street called police yesterday at 7:55 a.m. to report that a black, 16-foot construction trailer was stolen from the site as early as Friday, according to Police Lt. James Hashem.

The trailer, valued at $5,000, was loaded with construction equipment and ladders. How much that is worth isn’t yet known because an inventory hasn’t yet been taken, Hashem said.

If the trailer “doesn’t have wheel locks or a hitch lock,” stealing it would have been as easy as “just hooking it up to a vehicle with a trailer hitch,” Hashem said.
