LAWRENCE — A May Street man was arrested early Sunday morning after he swore at and evaded police trying to break up an “out of control party” in a 50 Island St. apartment.
Luis Ventura, 22, of 51 May St., was charged with disorderly conduct after the 3 a.m. incident, according to a police report.
Police were asked to quell the loud party in the third-floor apartment at 50 Island St. Officers said several youths were outside swearing and yelling at them. Inside, police found fresh vandalism tags on the walls, leaving permanent damage. Police said some 50 youths were in the hallways and there was a fresh scent of burning marijuana, according to a report by Officer Carlos Vieira.
The youths began chanting expletives at the officers and calling them “pigs,” according to the report. Some of the youths continued taunting the officers asking them “where they live,” according to the report. Ventura proceeded to “challenge” the officers, repeatedly chanting and swearing.
