Amesbury High School to finish 2 years behind schedule

AMESBURY - A new completion deadline for the high school renovation and expansion gives contractors until the summer 2008 to finish the $29 million project.

Mayor Thatcher Kezer signed a new contract yesterday morning for the delayed high school construction project, officially bringing Castagna Construction of Newburyport on board to finish the rest of the renovation and expansion. Work has virtually come to a halt since August, when Amesbury fired the original contractor, Alexandra Construction, because of contruction delays.
