Town and city clerk offices across the region will remain open until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, the statewide deadline for registering to vote in the presidential election.
Those looking to register can do so at any town or city clerk office in the state before the deadline, which falls 20 days prior to the Nov. 4 election.
Residents can register to vote either in person or through mail-in registration.
Mail-in registration forms must be postmarked by Oct. 15.
Local election officials are anticipating record voter turnout.
As many as 500 previously unregistered voters in North Andover will have registered to vote before Wednesday's deadline, according to Town Clerk Joyce Bradshaw.
In Andover, Town Clerk Randy Hanson said residents can register through the mail, at the town clerk's office, or at the Memorial Hall Library reference desk.
Hanson said her office is always busiest the day before the registration deadline.
"It's constant," said Hanson. "We'll be on our feet all day."
