HAVERHILL - The public is invited to attend the grand opening for the Rail Trail mural on the back of Arthur Sharp’s Hardware. The ceremony will be at 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21. The mural is a service learning project of the Access 21 after-school program at Haverhill High School.
The Massachusetts Cultural Council helped fund this project and has invited State Sen. Kathleen O’Connor Ives, chair of the Tourism, Arts, and Cultural Development Committee. Mayor James Fiorentini also plans to attend.
Library offers children’s programs
HAVERHILL - Stop by the Children’s room on Monday, Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m. for “Mixing in Math.” This workshop will teach you how to sprinkle a little math into your daily routine. This program is sponsored by the Department of Early Education and Care.
Rocks and Minerals, presented by local geologist Bill Hammond, will take place in the Children’s Program Room on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 3:45 p.m. Please register online.
Music and Movement for Kids, a program for children ages 2-5, will be held on Monday, Oct. 28 at 10:30 a.m. Please register online.
Throughout November, the Children’s Room will be collecting diaper donations for the Anchor of Hope Diaper Drive. Stop by to drop off new diapers in any size or brand. Register for these activities online at www.haverhillpl.org.
Christmas concert planned in Bradford
The First Church of Christ in Bradford will present a Christmas concert featuring The New England Tenors on Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. Admission is a free will donation. Please bring a nonperishible food item to support the Sacred Hearts Food Pantry. This concert is sponsored by Flowers by Steve.
