---- — Andover High School’s Vocal Music Department performs a free Pops in the Park concert Saturday night, June 15, as a thank-you to the community for its continued support.

Members of the award-winning show and chamber choirs will deliver a program of popular songs from the movies from 6 to 8 p.m. in The Park at Bartlet and Chestnut streets. The audience will enjoy plenty of familiar favorites, including selections from “Once” to “The Little Mermaid” to “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”

The public is invited to pack a picnic and bring along blankets and lawn chairs as well as the entire family for what is the first concert of its kind by the Vocal Music Department.

The rain date is Sunday, June 16, at 6 p.m.

‘Talk the Vote’ at Mass. School of Law

Dan Rea, host of WBZ Radio’s “Nightside with Dan Rea will preside over “Talk the Vote,” a live broadcast, on Monday, June 17, from 8 to 10 p.m. at Massachusetts School of Law, 500 Federal St., Andover.

Presented by WBZ 1030 Newsradio and the AARP, Rea will appear in front of a live studio audience to discuss the ramifications of the U.S. Senate special election in Massachusetts on June 25.

The event is free and open to the public. It will take place in the Old Courtroom on the second floor of the law school.

Former ‘Chronicle’ host headlines Holy Family supper

METHUEN — On Wednesday, June 19, Holy Family Hospital will hold its June Continue Senior Supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the hospital’s auditorium.

The event will be hosted by Steward’s Community Liaison and former host of WCVB’s “Chronicle” Mary Richardson.

Jimmy Fund Walk set for Sept. 8

BOSTON — The 25th annual Boston MarathonJimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai is seeking walkers.

Set for Sunday, Sept. 8, the one-day fundraising event to fight all cancers offers four routes: the 26.2-mile route starting from Hopkinton; the 13.1-mile route from Babson College in Wellesley; the 5-mile route from Boston College; and the 3-mile route from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

All routes end at the Copley Square finish line in Boston. Participants will walk to raise more than $7 million to support lifesaving adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber.

The fundraising minimum is $300 for walkers age 13 and older and $100 for children 12 and younger.

Casting call for movie extras

Secrets Movie LLC will be filming scenes for its upcoming film “The Minister’s Wife” on Monday and Tuesday, June 17 and 18, at Massachusetts School of Law in Andover at 500 Federal St.

“The Minister’s Wife” is based on a true story and Kathryn Casey’s book, “Deadly Little Secrets.” It is being produced by Mark Donadio and Miriam Marcus of Moody Independent, line produced by Andrea Ajemian of Worcester and directed by John Stimpson. The bulk of the filming is being done in Worcester through June 25.

Shooting is expected to take place from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days in the Old Courtroom within the law school.

State Sen. Barry Finegold and staff will hold open office hours on Friday, June 28 in Lawrence and Andover at the following locations and times:

Lawrence: Lawrence Public Library, 3rd Floor (Robert Frost Room), 51 Lawrence St.; 10-11 a.m.

Andover: Memorial Hall Library, 1st Floor (Activities Room), 2 North Main St.; 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

State Rep. Linda Dean Campbell, D-Methuen holds office hours every Friday from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Methuen Senior Center, 77 Lowell St.

Girl Scout car wash tomorrow

METHUEN — The Cadette Girl Scout Troop 60768 Annual Car Wash will be held tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Forest Street Union Church, 15 Union St.

The cost is $5. Also, for $1, patrons can purchase a hotdog in a bun with a cup of cold lemonade.
