Photographer is Artist of the Month
METHUEN — Lewis Holiday’s love for photography began at a very early age.
“My mother was a camera fanatic,” Holiday said. “No matter what we were doing, she was taking pictures of us. Our family would spend hours going through photo albums and running to the store for more Instant Polaroid Film.”
Now, Holiday, whose photos have been published in various magazines, has been selected as Methuen’s Artist of the Month for April 2013.
Holiday received his BS in Communications Media - Film Production at Fitchburg State University. While attending school, he was pasr of the Boston music scene by photographing album covers and music legends. Some of his work has been published in The Boston Phoenix, XXL Magazine, Elemental Magazine, The Source, and Chivalry Magazine, to name a few.
“Mr. Holiday’s work is so varied. He is clearly a multi-talented artist,” said Mayor Steven Zanni, who selected him for the honor. “I find his pieces to be inspirational and I know that anyone coming by my office will feel the same.”
The Artist of the Month Program was started six years ago to give members of Methuen’s art community a forum to display their work and to encourage participation in Methuen’s growing creative economy.
