So long, Hispanic Week

LAWRENCE — The city’s celebration of all things Hispanic ended yesterday, highlighted by a parade filled with dance, culture and music.

Hispanic Week, or Semana Hispana, started in 1979, to promote the richness and variety of Hispanic culture. The theme of this year’s festival was “Honor Our Heroes” and was dedicated to local veterans.

Several local civic groups and politicians took part in the march that wound through the city, including current Mayor Daniel Rivera and former Mayor William Lantigua.
