When Eagle-Tribune photographer Mary Schwalm found two cardinals building a nest in a rhododendron shrub in her front yard, she did what comes naturally — take photos.
She set about photographing the tiny family with a GoPro camera perched in the tree next to the nest.
Schwalm sat outside with her morning coffee and used an app on her phone to remotely control the camera capturing the comings and goings of the attentive parents.
From June 4 until just yesterday, Schwalm watched the cardinal chicks grow and fly from the nest. Be sure to check out her grub-tastic video at eagletribune.com.
