Cash, projector and cameras stolen from car

NORTH ANDOVER — Failure to lock a vehicle turned out to be costly for a Massachusetts Avenue resident.

An overhead projector, two cameras and $1,100 in cash were stolen from a car parked at 129 Massachusetts Ave., according to the police log. The theft was reported at 6:52 p.m. Thursday and probably happened Tuesday or Wednesday, police said.

Lt. Charles Gray, spokesman for the Police Department, said he believes the car was unlocked. There was no report of a window being broken or a door forced open, he said.

Gray has repeatedly warned residents to lock their cars at night – and not to keep valuable items in them.
