LAWRENCE — Two people were arrested for disorderly conduct after one them drove his truck into a city light pole early Sunday morning.

Randy Lugo, 26, of Milwaukee, Wis., and Yissel Taveras, 23, of 336 Ames St., were both charged with disorderly conduct in two separate arrests, according to police reports.

Officers responding to calls of an accident around Maple and White streets found an abandoned Jeep Grand Cherokee with extensive damage to its front end and a city light pole knocked to the ground, police said.

The Jeep was owned by Lugo, who witnesses told police left the scene in a green Toyota SUV shortly after the accident.

Taveras told police that Lugo called her and asked to be picked up from the scene of the accident.

While police spoke with Taveras, Lugo continually interfered with their investigation, according to police.

Shortly after Lugo was arrested for disorderly conduct, Taveras refused to move her vehicle after being told to by police. As a result, she was also arrested for disorderly conduct.
