ANDOVER — Police were continuing to investigate a rash of house and car-breaks that took place late Monday and early Tuesday morning in a neighborhood off Route 28 near Interstate-495.
Garages and cars were broken into on William and Canterbury streets as well as on Warwick Circle, police said. In some cases, bicycles were stolen from one garage and recovered at another garage, where other items had been stolen.
Lt. John Pathiakis said the perpetrators were either riding or walking through the neighorhood testing car doors as well as garage doors to see if they were open. If they were, they’d grab anything they could, he said. Among the items missing, aside from bicycles, were change and cellphones.
Police were still compiling a list of stolen items yesterday.
