---- — LAWRENCE — Four vehicles were heavily damaged yesterday afternoon when a Tompkins Landscaping truck veered off the road near 37 Falmouth St.

No injuries were reported, but at least two people said their cars were totaled in the accident, which occurred around 5:15 p.m. The truck hit a 1998 Mercedes-Benz that was parked on the street and pushed it into a parking lot for tenants at 37 Falmouth St. A blue Civic and a red Ford pickup truck were also hit.

The pickup truck was pushed into the side of 37 Falmouth St., causing at least minimal damage. Mark Exum of 37 Falmouth St., owner of the Civic, said his car is probably totaled. He said he is confident his insurance company will pay for a rental car while his vehicle is being repaired — or he’s looking for a new car.

Eloida Torres, of Lawrence was visiting her granddaughter in a nearby house when she heard a bang, she said. Her Mercedes-Benz was probably totaled, she said.

“I loved that car,” she said. “Thank God nobody got hurt.”

Three Coady’s two trucks were sent to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles. A Lawrence police officer was interviewing Tompkins Landscaping employees yesterday afternoon.
