Calzetta cruises for Lowell over UMBC

Lawrence’s Mike Calzetta got plenty of offensive support and comfortably slammed the door in a UMass Lowell doubleheader sweep of Maryland-Baltimore County with a 15-1 win.

Calzetta went the seven inning route on 71 pitches, allowing six hits and one walk, with one strikeout.

Southern New Hampshire knocked off Merrimack in the mens tennis Northeast-10 championship final, 5-4. Monday night, Merrimack learns if it has earned a spot in the Division 2 NCAA tourney with its 13-8 record. ...

Tim Cashman was the tough-luck loser for Merrimack, which managed only three hits in a 2-1 loss at St. Michael’s. The teams play a doubleheader today in Vermont. ...
