Mayor Rivera seeks jobs for youths

LAWRENCE — Mayor Daniel Rivera will host a breakfast tomorrow to encourage those in the business community to take part in his Summer Jobs Initiative for Lawrence youth.

Through a partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence, the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council, and the Merrimack Valley Workforce Investment Board, funding has been secured to create 185 jobs. In an effort to create even more, Rivera has started a ‘Match the Mayor’ campaign, which he hopes will encourage businesses in Lawrence to match contributions from the public.

The breakfast, hosted by Sal Lupoli of Lupoli Companies, will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9 :30 a.m. at Salvatore’s Function Hall in Lawrence.

All local businesses and employers are encouraged to learn more about the initiative at the breakfast. To RSVP, please contact Yvonne Salcedo at ysalcedo@glcac.org or 978-620-4702.
