LAWRENCE — The state has awarded Lawrence $194,700 as part of its 2014 Pothole and Winter Recovery Program, and Lawrence public works department employees are already putting it to use.
Mayor Dan Rivera and State Reps. Marcos Devers and Frank Moran accompanied the DPW pothole crews last Friday to oversee pothole repair. They went to Sunset and Lawrence Streets, Saratoga Street and Stearns Avenue, which have been identified as sites in dire need of repair.
The Patrick administration designated $40 million statewide for pothole repair and winter recovery. The money must be used before September of this year.
So far, 150 tons of hot top have been used to repair pot holes in Lawrence, according to the mayor’s office. Repairs are scheduled for the next several weeks, weather permitting. To report a pothole, please send an email to email@example.com.
“Weather permitting, several crews will be out weekly pouring hot top to fix the damage done to our streets over the winter.” said DPW Director John Isensee. To report a pothole, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
