---- — WINDHAM — The Windham Windup robotics team is bound for Verizon Wireless Arena and a robots-on-ice competition between periods of a Manchester Monarchs game Dec. 8.
Tickets are $25 and proceeds will help the Windup pay expenses this season. The Windup will take on the Hopkinton OzRam club with robots specially designed to function on ice. Game time is 7 p.m.

HAMPSTEAD — Tickets for the town’s Senior Dinner Dec. 2 are on sale at the tax collector and town clerk’s office.
The event will be held at the Granite Rose. The event is geared toward people age 62 and up and tickets are $5 each.
It’s time to ‘Light the Tree’ in Atkinson
ATKINSON — Residents of Atkinson and surrounding communities are invited to join in for the seasonal celebration at the Atkinson Resort and Country Club for the annual “Light the Tree” celebration Nov. 29, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
The event is open to everyone and features family-friendly activities. Admission is free, but guests are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots program or nonperishable food items for local soup kitchens.
The event features activities such as music, caroling, arts and crafts, cookie decorating, hayrides and ice-carving demonstrations. Waiting for Santa’s arrival at the 40-foot evergreen tree, guests look on as he lights the tree to a display of fireworks. Following the tree lighting, Santa will be on hand in the Legacy Ballroom and listen to each child’s Christmas wishes.
Complimentary cookies, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, and water will be available. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be for sale outside and at the Resort’s restaurants, Merrill’s Tavern and Stagecoach Grille.
Holiday photography exhibit begins Nov. 25
HAVERHILL — Winnekenni Castle will host a holiday photography exhibit featuring the work of Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire photographers.
Opening day and reception is Nov. 25, from 2 to 5 p.m. Admission is free. The exhibit will also be open Nov. 27 and 28 from 6 to 8 p.m., Dec. 1 from 2 to 5 p.m., and Dec. 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The show will include a silent auction of exhibitor’s select donated works. Active silent bidding will be ongoing for the duration of the exhibit and will continue during the castle’s fourth annual Holiday Gala on Dec. 6, with winners announced at the end of the gala evening.
Photographs on display will be available for purchase by check only. The gala is from 7 to 9 p.m. and will feature good food, fine wines and malts, live music and raffles. Tickets to the gala are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Limited edition 2012 castle ornaments will be sold. More information is available at winnekenni.com or by calling 978-521-1686.
Line dance classes begin Nov. 26
HAVERHILL — The Council on Aging is offering a new line dancing class on Mondays at 11 a.m. beginning Nov. 26.
