2-year-old girl left alone in car on hot afternoon

NORTH ANDOVER — Police investigated a report that a 2-year-old girl was left unattended in a car Wednesday afternoon, when the temperature climbed above 90 degrees.

The incident, reported at 1:06 p.m., happened in the parking lot near Market Basket on Route 114. The person who reported the situation worried that the little girl might have been dehydrated, according to the police log.

Officer Jay Staude investigated the matter and filed a report. Further details were unavailable last night.
