Wellness for the body, mind and spirit Saturday

NORTH ANDOVER — Wellness professionals from the Merrimack Valley will offer workshops, treatments and experiential classes at North Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 190 Academy Road.

The second annual event takes place Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Snow date is March 20.

"The North Parish Wellness Network has put this day together to help heal, support and nourish minds, bodies and spirits," said spokeswoman Grace Durfee. "We invite all to come relax, explore, be pampered and get inspired."

Workshops, noon to 5 p.m., include: Finding Energy; Stress, Health and Coping Mechanisms; Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for Women; Exercise and Back Pain; Conscious Eating; Creating Your Vision Board; How to Get the Most from Your Physician; Body Story; and Service as Prayer.

There also will be massage, Reiki, meditation, yoga, Tuina, emotional freedom technique: Feldenkrais, life and career coaching, acupuncture, blood pressure clinic, Zumba fitness, and vendors.

Admission is $30 at the door, which includes one individual session, unlimited workshops, and lunch.

Partnering to assist Haiti quake victims

HAVERHILL — Bradford Christian Academy and Cedardale Health and Fitness are collecting first-aid supplies and money to send to a health clinic in Haiti run by Partners In Development.

Donations are being accepted until Saturday, March 6. A drop-off box is in Cedardale's lobby, 931 Boston Road. Checks should be made payable to Partners In Development, listing Haitian relief on the memo line.

Students at the academy also will hold a walk-a-thon and bake sale at Cedardale on Saturday in an effort to raise more money.

Partners In Development (www.pidonline.org), based in Ipswich, has operated a health clinic in Haiti since 2003.

"Partners In Development's long-term commitment to Haiti and its existing services and relationships within the country ensure that donations will quickly and effectively reach Haitians in need of help," said Victoria Kennedy, the head of Bradford Christian Academy.

Exchange Club brings amateur boxing to Valley

ANDOVER — The Exchange Club of Lawrence presents the 20th annual Charity Fight Night on Thursday, April 8, featuring special guest and Golden Gloves champion Joe DeNucci.

The amateur boxing event will be at the Wyndham Boston Andover hotel, 123 Old River Road, and will include a prime rib dinner, auction, raffles, door prizes and more.
