---- — METHUEN — The Dan Ford Foundation will hold its 5th Annual 5 Mile Run and 5K fun walk/run Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Fireside Restaurant & Pub,171 Pelham St.
The 5 mile-run is USATF certified, with cash prizes. The first 500 runners will be given t-shirts. There will be a post-race celebration and awards ceremony. Registration can be made online at www.danfordroadrace.com or the day of the race from 9 to 10:30 am at the Day’s Hotel & Conference Center, second floor, 159 Pelham St.
Last year, the Dan Ford Foundation gave $3,000 to the Fund for Families at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center and $2,000 to Dana Farber, Londonderry, N.H. The fund also gave six $1,000 scholarships to Methuen High athletes Katisha Bellegrade, Casey Scarelli, Dylan Doucette and Eric Lacroix.

All Saints Parish to host dinner
HAVERHILL — All Saints Parish will host a pork roast dinner on Saturday following the 4 p.m. Mass.
The dinner will include beverages and dessert and is presented by the church activities committee. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children.
Eastern Bank donates to Lawrence nonprofits
LAWRENCE — Four nonprofit agencies and two high schools in the city are among 69 nonprofits honored with more than $1 million in grants at Eastern Bank’s 9th Annual Community Quarterback event.
The Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation donated $1 million in grants and recognized each organization for outstanding community leadership at the bank’s corporate headquarters in downtown Boston.
Eastern Bank Chairman and CEO Richard Holbrook and Doug Flutie, the bank’s spokesman, honored the organizations before about 100 guests during a ceremony. A representative from each organization was presented with a Doug Flutie-autographed football — a token of appreciation for their leadership.
The 2013 Community Quarterback recipients from Lawrence are: Bread and Roses, Inc., $10,000; Central Catholic High School, $10,000; Community Day Care of Lawrence, Inc., $10,000; Lawrence CommunityWorks, $10,000; Lazarus House Ministries, $15,000; and Notre Dame High School; $10,000.
Singer/songwriter Michelle Lewis to perform
BYFIELD — Singer/songwriter Michelle Lewis will perform on Saturday at the Cat in the Cradle Coffeehouse.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Lewis tours nationally and is celebrating the release of her new EP, titled “Paris.” The Cat in the Cradle Coffeehouse is hosted by the Byfield Community Arts Center, 7 Central St. Admission is $5.
The performance is sponsored in part by the Newburyport Bank.
Rep. Moran to hold office hours
State Rep. Frank Moran will host office hours April 29 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Andover Public Library and from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m in the community room at the elderly housing complex at 101 Broadway, Methuen.
All residents of the 17th Essex House District are invited to attend to discuss any issues of concern.
