METHUEN — A man walking or jogging along the side of Route 110 was seriously injured this morning when he was hit by an Acura Integra.
The man, whose name is not known because he didn't have identification, was taken to Lawrence General Hospital with head injuries after he was hit.
He is being flown to a Boston hospital. According to police, after the man was hit, he flew up in the air, hitting the front windshield of the car, going over the top of it, then smashing out the rear window.
The call originally came in as a hit and run, but police said the driver of the Acura, a Lawrence man in his 20s, stopped the vehicle and is also being treated for injuries at Holy Family Hospital.
The road was blocked off during the investigation.
