METHUEN — Two men were arrested in separate incidents at about the same time yesterday morning.
Police sought complaints against Luke Caraccio, 28, 236 Oak St., for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, being a peeping tom, malicious damage to property, resisting arrest, attempting to commit a crime, after officers responded to a report of a carjacking at 5:40 a.m. yesterday.
A caller told police a man approached him with a knife on Smith Street and tried to take his car keys. A struggle ensued, during which the caller said he was cut. Police said Caraccio fled on foot towards Haverhill Street. Police and a canine unit found Caraccio in the area.
He was trying to hurt himself when he was found, police said, and was transported to Holy Family Hospital.
The caller received minor injuries.
At the same time, another caller reported a man breaking into cars on Central Street. A the suspect was reported to be riding a bicycle heading toward Broadway.
Police located Richard Landry Jr., 20, 57 Broadway, and had the caller identify him. Landry was charged with two counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and two counts of larceny from a motor vehicle.
