---- — LAWRENCE — Two people were arrested early Thursday morning after a double stabbing outside the Coco Club at 143 Essex St.
One stabbing victim, who suffered a slash/stab wound to his face and neck area, was airlifted to a Boston hospital for treatment. The other victim was stabbed at least once in the side of his chest, according to police report by Officer Carlos Vieira.
Ernesto Oveido Jr., 25, of Boston, and Efrain Gonzalez, 24, were both arrested and charged with assault and battery with a knife and assault with intent to murder, according to Vieira’s report.
At 1:33 a.m., police received a call about cars racing near 139 Essex St. At near the same time, an officer on patrol he was near the Coco Club and was investigating a possible stabbing.
One stabbing victim, a 22-year-old man, was found in the back of an Acura TL. A woman was helping him by applying pressure to his stab wound.
Meanwhile, Lawrence General Hospital notified police because a another man, 25, had come into ER with the severe wound to his neck and face.
Once he was stabilized, the man was Medflighted to Tufts Medical Center in Boston for treatment.
