Woman receives Silver Key Award from Salem State University

LAWRENCE - Alicia Knight of Lawrence is the recipient of a 2013 Silver Key Award given in recognition of an individual who, in their senior year at Salem State University, earned an academic grade point average of above 3.0 with proven involvement within his or her area of academic concentration.

A Presidential Arts scholar for three years, Knight has also been awarded The Firm scholarship and the Women in Accounting scholarship from the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, in addition to being awarded an Osram Sylvania scholarship in the field of accounting.

Her membership has been sought by three honor societies: Delta Mu Delta, the international business honor society, where she held the position of Secretary; Phi Epsilon Kappa, the national honor society for Physical Education and exercise science, where she held the position of Vice President; and Phi Kappa Phi.

At the UMass Amherst Undergraduate Research Conference, she presented research collected from dance classes at Salem State. She performed a solo piece at Bridgewater State’s Day of Dance.

Salem State University presented the award at its annual Senior Awards Banquet at the Peabody Essex Musem in Salem on May 14.
