---- — Looking for a pet? Here are a few available through local animal shelters.

First is Animal Rescue Network of New England’s Maile, a 2-year-old shepherd/boxer girl. Maile has perfect house manners and loves family life. Best in a active household with older children, she will keep you smiling at her antics. While in foster care, she ran with her special person each morning for several miles. When she looks up at you with those deep. dark beautiful eyes you will see the beautiful spirit that is Maile. Give this girl a second chance at a loving and caring home life. For more information or to fill out an application on Maile or see all the dogs available for adoption at ARRNE go to our website at www.arnne.org. You can also email us at info@arnne.org or call 603-233-4801. ARNNE is an all volunteer rescue organization based in Pelham, N.H.

Next are two pets from the Salem Animal Rescue League.

Keller, a gorgeous male cat looking for a special home. While he is not fond of having his back petted, he does enjoy a good head scratch. He will give kisses and loves to play. He came to SARL as a stray and he’d love to find his forever home. Do you have the time and patience for this handsome man?

Tasha is a 2-year-old female terrier mix who would just love to be the center of your world. She is very friendly, loves being petted and would love to snuggle up with you. She is high energy and would like a family who will keep her busy playing, running and just having fun. She would do best in a home with older children and as an only pet.

Find Keller, Tasha and others at the Salem Animal Rescue League, 4 Sarl Drive in Salem, N.H. during open hours, Thursdays from noon to 7 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. You won’t be disappointed.
