---- — NORTH ANDOVER — Two officers were injured Sunday night while subduing a disorderly man, police said.
Sgt. John Pickard and Officers Michael Gilligan and Jay Staude were sent to 14 Royal Crest Drive at 9:44 p.m. to investigate a disturbance complaint, according to Lt. Charles Gray, spokesman for the North Andover Police Department.
While officers were “trying to restore peace,” Casey Paxton, 36, of 14 Royal Crest Drive, “decided not to comply,” Gray said.
Paxton was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and intimidation of a witness. Paxton “appeared to be impaired” when the incident took place, Gray said.
Gilligan was struck on the head and neck during the altercation, while Staude reported suffering from lower back pain, according to the police log.
Paxton was expected to be arraigned in Lawrence District Court on Tuesday morning.
