Seabrook police search for robbery suspect

SEABROOK — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in Thursday’s armed robbery of A1 Stateline convenience store on Route 1.

According to Seabrook Sgt. Brett Walker, at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, a white male entered the convenience store armed with a screwdriver or another type of pry tool. A1 Stateline is located at 134 Lafayette Road, not far from the Salisbury border.

Walker said the suspect demanded money from the clerk behind the counter. When she didn’t respond as he asked, he jumped over the counter, prying open the cash register and taking an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect then fled the scene and got into a green car that had been parked at an adjacent business, EJZ Cars, a used-car dealership. He then drove southbound on Lafayette Road (Route 1), according to Walker.

The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a dark blue, fleece jacket over a gray t-shirt, a dark knit hat, blue jeans, and black or dark sneakers with white on the edges of the soles. Walker said during the robbery the suspect also wore a light-colored mask over his face.

Responding to the scene, Seabrook police gathered video surveillance of the suspect, and are also processing other evidence found at the scene.

Police retrieved a photo taken by the store’s surveillance camera and have posted a picture of the alleged robbery suspect with the media, as well as on their Facebook page.

Those with information concerning the identity or whereabouts of the individual in the photo are urged to contact Walker or Det. Dan Lawrence at the Seabrook Police at 603-474-5200, or at the department’s anonymous tip number of 603-474-2640.
